Collegeville Area Rotary & Foundation Brings Community Together to Honor Veterans Through Salute to Service.

Local businesses step forward to support November tribute as residents are invited to dedicate American flags in honor of those who served

This November, Collegeville Area Rotary & Foundation will bring the community together for its inaugural Salute to Service, a patriotic tribute honoring the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

From November 9–13, 2026, approximately 100 American flags will stand in military-style formation on the grounds next to the Lower Providence Fire Department along Ridge Pike in Eagleville. Each dedicated flag will represent a personal story of service, sacrifice, and gratitude.

The centerpiece of the five-day tribute will be a Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, November 11, at 12:00 noon. The ceremony will bring together veterans, military families, community leaders, local dignitaries, and residents to recognize those who have worn our nation's uniform. The ceremony is free and open to everyone.

Local Businesses Answer the Call to Support Veterans

Community support is already helping bring Salute to Service to life. Collegeville Area Rotary & Foundation is pleased to recognize several businesses and organizations that have stepped forward as sponsors:

  • Streamlight, Inc. — Eagle Sponsor
  • IBEW — Liberty Sponsor
  • Marco Motors — Freedom Sponsor
  • Browning Advisors LLC — Freedom Sponsor

Their participation demonstrates the important role local businesses and organizations play in strengthening our communities and honoring those who have served.

“We are grateful to the businesses and individuals who have already stepped forward to support Salute to Service,” said Jay Browning, President of Collegeville Area Rotary & Foundation and a United States Marine Corps veteran. “This event is about more than displaying American flags. It's about remembering the people behind those flags, recognizing their service, and bringing our community together to say thank you.”

Additional sponsorship opportunities remain available for businesses and organizations wishing to participate in this meaningful community tribute.

Every Flag Has a Story

Community members can participate by dedicating an American flag in honor or memory of a veteran, an active-duty service member, or a loved one who served.

For a $100 dedication, each flag will feature a personalized commemorative medallion recognizing the individual being honored. Following the event, the medallion will be presented to the person who purchased the dedication as a lasting keepsake.

Whether honoring a parent, grandparent, spouse, friend, neighbor, or fellow service member, every dedication provides an opportunity to share a story that deserves to be remembered.

“Every veteran has a story, and every family has its own reasons for being proud,” said Doug Cook, Past President of Collegeville Area Rotary & Foundation and Past District Governor of Rotary District 7430. “Salute to Service gives us a way to make those stories visible. We want families to visit, find the flag dedicated to someone special, and know that our community appreciates their service.”

Honoring Service While Supporting the Community

Salute to Service is both a tribute to our military and a fundraiser supporting the charitable and community service initiatives of Collegeville Area Rotary and its Foundation.

The organization has served the greater Collegeville area since 1949, bringing neighbors, businesses, and volunteers together through its commitment to Rotary's guiding principle, Service Above Self.

Through this event, the organization hopes to establish a meaningful annual tradition that celebrates service, strengthens community connections, and supports charitable efforts throughout the area.
